The new vintage of Tapada de Coelheiros White is now available on the market. Despite a year of challenging weather conditions, the 2022 vintage promises freshness and a good mouthfeel, maintaining the quality for which it has always been known.
Renowned for its commitment to regenerative agriculture, Tapada de Coelheiros has just introduced this new vintage, a testament to its dedication to sustainability and environmental management, as well as a passion for producing high-quality wines.
Despite the adverse weather conditions experienced in 2022, the vineyards and surrounding ecosystems demonstrated their resilience and adaptability, proving that careful work in the field has yielded very positive results.
The 2022 vintage resulted from a winter that, although very rainy, was crucial for replenishing water reserves that had nearly run dry after a summer of extreme temperatures. May, however, was hot and rainy, accelerating the vine cycle and causing some disturbances to flower and disease pressure, which, despite all efforts, significantly impacted grape production.
Produced from indigenous grape varieties Arinto and Roupeiro, this wine comes from the Vinha da Sobreira, a dry-farmed vineyard with granite soils of low fertility, oriented from Northwest to Southwest at an altitude of 300 meters.
Valuing the importance of agricultural work and aiming for an excellent final product, the grapes were carefully hand-harvested. The must fermented in Austrian oak foudres, and the wine was kept in contact with fine lees for 12 months, followed by another 12 months of aging in the bottle.
