Tapada de Coelheiros launches the Terroir Range, a collection of three wines from the Taco, Sobreira, and Alto vineyards, reflecting the care and respect for the natural environment of the region.

Known for its commitment to agriculture, Tapada de Coelheiros presents these new wines as a testament to its dedication to sustainability and environmental management. The estate, home to this historic brand, is managed with sustainable practices, where organic and regenerative farming are vital pillars.

João Raposeira, responsible for the viticulture and ecosystems, highlights that “Today, the entire estate that produces this historic brand is managed with sustainable and regenerative practices. The wines of Tapada de Coelheiros evoke the unique essence of each vineyard plot from which they originate. With exceptional elegance and remarkable complexity, each vintage reflects the commitment and meticulous attention we dedicate to this land.”

With the release of this new collection, the goal is to showcase the diversity of the territory and the Alentejo region. Each wine is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship that characterizes the Tapada de Coelheiros project, incorporating the unique character of each vineyard plot. Two new additions, Sobreira and Alto, join Taco, all sourced from different years and plots within Tapada de Coelheiros.

Tapada de Coelheiros Taco 2014, from a vineyard with history, planted in 2001, stands out as one of the finest examples of traditional dryland viticulture. Produced only in years of exceptional quality and in limited quantities, it enjoys predominant southern exposure and is surrounded by a dense forest of cork oaks and holm oaks. With characteristic mossy notes from the Petit Verdot grape, integrated with spices from barrel aging, this red wine reveals itself as vigorous, distinguished by a vibrant acidity that highlights a unique and singular terroir.

Tapada de Coelheiros Sobreira 2020, from a vineyard planted in 2001 with Syrah grapes, benefits from a northwest exposure and proximity to a cork oak forest. This full-bodied red wine reveals robust yet silky tannins, promising a good evolution over time.

Meanwhile, Tapada de Coelheiros Alto 2018 is a white wine that stands out for its vibrancy on the palate, driven by the characteristic acidity of the Arinto grape, with a silky texture and an elegant body. Sourced from the Alto vineyard, located in the center of Tapada de Coelheiros on a gentle slope surrounded by a walnut orchard, a meadow, and a pine forest that inspires the label of this wine. Originating from granite-rich clay soils, where the largest block of white grape varieties is found—particularly Arinto, which gives rise to this wine.
